The comedian

Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

He has published in excess of 40 works combined, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
