Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game winning run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, however can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.
In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Life
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
West Ham's only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four matches.
My son told me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.
They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.
However I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering the home side's home record, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
